Amar Singh, a resident of Talania village in Sri Fatehgarh Sahib was know among the locals as “Jattan Wala Bapu.” For several months, he had been missing , and no one knew where he was. When he was finally found , it became clear that he had been living in extremely neglected conditions for many years.

He had not bathed in years, and his hands marked with deep wounds- some old and scarred, otther fresh and raw, with dirt and infection settled in. In some of the more severe injuries, maggots had begun to form, a painful sign of just how long he had been left without care.
