From Despair to Hope: Gurmel Singh’s Journey

His Story

Gurmel Singh hailed from a prosperous Virk landlord family. Their home was the first built-up house in the village, and they owned extensive land holdings. Notably, the renowned RIMT University now stands on what was once their land. Gurmel worked as a truck driver, but around 12 years ago, he met with a tragic accident. Unfortunately, he was left at home without any medical treatment.

Desperate for help, Gurmel borrowed Rs. 30,000 from a fellow villager for his treatment. However, the lender added exorbitant interest to the loan and attempted to seize Gurmel’s land. Thankfully, the village Panchayat intervened, and the land was released back to Gurmel.

When we found Gurmel, he was in a half-paralyzed state. We brought him to our ashram, where he now resides. We are providing him with the necessary medical care and support.

We have a heartfelt request: if this message reaches Gurmel’s sister, we urge her to visit him at least once to see his current condition. Despite the neighbors’ efforts to contact her, they were unable to locate her in the village where she was married.
